C4D Cares
Before there was C4D Kidz, there was a dream in Philadelphia called Change 4 a Dollar.
It was a small nonprofit built on a simple idea — that small acts of giving, multiplied by community, could change lives. We didn’t wait for million-dollar donors; we became the change ourselves.
That spirit grew into what C4D Kidz is today. The acronym C4D reminds us where we came from — Change 4 a Dollar — and what we still believe: that real change starts when everyday people choose to care.
C4D Cares is the continuation of that legacy. It’s how we carry our founding mission forward — using our profits, our time, and our collective strength to become the village it takes to raise a child.
Our Why
We believe children don’t just learn from what we teach — they learn from what they see.
When they watch adults serve, share, and build together, they understand what community really means.
C4D Cares exists so that every child in our care grows up surrounded by that example.
We’re teaching them that success is not only personal — it’s communal.
That’s why our commitment runs deeper than words:
We dedicate a portion of C4D Kidz profits to fund community projects.
Our staff can earn paid time off for volunteering on C4D Cares initiatives.
We encourage parents, families, and local partners to join us — proving that together, we are the village.

Our How
C4D Cares is the outreach arm of C4D Kidz — a structured, parent-and-staff-driven initiative that turns compassion into coordinated action.
We organize our work through three pathways that keep the spirit of the village alive:
Impact Projects
Funded by C4D Kidz profits and community sponsors to create large-scale change.
Examples: School refurbishments, holiday meal drives, neighborhood resource events.
Service Projects
Volunteer-powered events where our families, teachers, and children serve side-by-side.
Examples: Village Cleanup Day, Family Literacy Night, Community Garden Build.
Compassion Projects
Focused outreach for a single family or child in crisis within our community.
Examples: Adopt-a-Family, emergency assistance, meal support.
Every project follows a consistent process: identify the need, plan responsibly, act collaboratively, and celebrate the impact.
Our goal isn’t just to complete projects — it’s to strengthen the bonds that make a community feel like home.
